EmergiCare History and Philosophy
EmergiCare is the brainchild of founder and owner, Dr. Robert Hamilton. Dr. Hamilton opened his first privately-owned clinic in 1981 after he saw a need in the Pikes Peak Region.
After serving as an ER doctor at Denver General Hospital and then starting the emergency department at Parkview Hospital in Pueblo, Dr. Hamilton came up with the idea to develop a group of private clinics with outstanding doctors delivering urgent care services in small, friendly settings. These urgent care clinics would provide an alternative to long and expensive waits in sterile, crowded hospital emergency rooms for a much lower price. EmergiCare Medical Clinics was born.
Dr. Hamilton is committed to high-quality, convenient, quick, affordable urgent care with a personal touch. Each patient EmergiCare sees receives a follow-up call after their visit. Calling patients was something Dr. Hamilton began doing 30 years ago and each clinics continues to this day.
Today, Dr. Hamilton runs five full-service urgent care clinics, four in Colorado Springs and one in Pueblo. Patients can walk in without an appointment and see a Board Certified Physician in 30 minutes or less. Dr. Hamilton’s physicians are experts in diagnosis and treat all ages for illnesses, accidents and emergencies.
Each clinic has a triage area, five to six exam rooms, a digital x-ray area, EKG services, trauma beds, a minor surgical suite, a physical therapy room and a lab and pharmacy on site.
All five clinics are also there to help you with non-emergency needs you may have including flu shots, physicals, annual check-ups, immunizations and drug and alcohol testing. These services are available on-the-spot seven days a week.
EmergiCare is also a leader in Occupational Medicine and routinely handles work injury treatment, rehabilitation, physical therapy and chiropractic care.
