Some medical conditions are, of course life-threatening, such as a heart attack or a serious head injury. These would require a trip directly to the Emergency Room. If you suspect that a condition calls for being admitted a hospital, go to the nearest ER immediately.
Below are some examples of conditions that require emergency medical care from an ER:
Proper care will be provided at an Emergency Room. Remember, ER visits should be reserved for true emergencies, such as chest pain and severe injuries. Seemingly small injuries and illnesses will be examined by our urgent care physicians. If greater care is needed, our staff here at EmergiCare will direct patients to the proper healthcare provider, or, if it is a true emergency, we will transfer patients directly to a hospital emergency room for further treatment.
Urgent Care centers are convenient for a variety of illnesses, injuries and minor emergencies, without the long ER wait time and ill waiting room crowds. Urgent Care clinics are intended to assist patients with an illness or injury that does not appear to be life –threatening, but also can’t wait until the next day, or for primary care doctor to see them. We all know it can sometimes take days to get in with our doctor. Urgent Care centers like EmergiCare Medical Clinics, are a great choice on days or during hours when doctors’ offices are closed.
Medical conditions such as the ones listed below are not considered emergencies, but may still require care within 24 hours:
Patients are also welcome to visit an EmergiCare Urgent Care clinic in lieu of seeing their doctor, for convenience. At EmergiCare, patients will always be seen by a physician, and our attention to detail and commitment to timely, quality patient care has helped us succeed in the Colorado Springs and Pueblo markets for nearly 4 decades.
